Tech history! Did Google’s first ever television commercial make you cry a little?
Admit it: Google’s SuperBowl commercial touched you a little bit. It’s ok.
Now, here’s the thing: According to John Battelle, the ad came from Google’s “Search Stories” YouTube channel, and dates back to November. The ad ‘Parisian Love’ aired during the third quarter of the SuperBowl and is the first ever television commercial by search engine and advertising giant Google. Google’s Eric Schmidt tweeted that he couldn’t wait to the commercial, and in an obvious allusion to his 2005 speech mentioned something about “hell freezing over.” What does this have to do with the iPhone? Other than the fact that Eric and his company have started an all out war with Apple, absolutely nothing. Good evening everyone! Lots of good iPhone stuff coming tomorrow.
